Golf (TPI) Assessment

Golf (TPI) Assessment

A TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Assessment is a comprehensive movement and golf-specific screening designed to understand how your body moves in relation to your golf swing. Rather than focusing only on technique, it identifies physical factors that may be limiting your performance or increasing your risk of injury. The goal is to build a clear picture of how your mobility, stability, strength, and control influence your swing.

Why Get a TPI Assessment?

Golf Is a Lifelong Sport — Prepare Your Body for It

Golf is a sport you can enjoy for a lifetime, but only if your body is prepared to handle the demands of the swing. A TPI assessment helps identify muscular imbalances, mobility restrictions, poor posture, and movement control issues that may be affecting your performance. By recognizing these issues early, you have the opportunity to intervene sooner and protect your ability to play for years to come.

Insight Into Current Aches and Pains

If you’re dealing with common golf-related pain such as low back discomfort, or golfer’s elbow, the assessment helps uncover the physical contributors behind these symptoms. The assessment uncovers how your body moves through the demand of a golf swing, helping explain why pain may be occurring and how to address it safely.

Benefits of a TPI Assessment:

  • Improved understanding of your body’s role in your golf swing

  • Identification of mobility, stability, and strength limitations

  • Reduced risk of injury and overuse pain

  • More efficient, powerful, and repeatable swing mechanics

  • A clear, personalized roadmap for improving performance and longevity in golf

What to Expect:

1. Health History Review
A detailed discussion of your injury history, current pain, previous treatments, and golf background to pinpoint any existing concerns.

2. Golf-Specific Movement Screen
An assessment of how your joints tolerate load and how your body controls motion during golf-related swing patterns.

3. TPI Physical Screen

You’ll complete a standardized series of physical tests that evaluate 16 key areas of the body used in the golf swing. These tests are the same standard used worldwide for golfers at every level, from amateurs to touring professionals.

4. Results Review & Plan Development
Morgan will explain how your physical limitations connect to your swing characteristics. Based on your results, you may receive:

·         An individualized corrective exercise program

·         Golf-specific drills to improve movement efficiency

·         Manual therapy to address joint or soft-tissue restrictions
